Band 7 0.5 wte (2.5 days) 18.75 hours part time permanent post

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Psychotherapist to join our established adult community Eating Disorders Team.

The post is a permanent. You will be joining an experienced and welcoming Multidisciplinary Team which highly values psychotherapeutic work.

We are very keen to attract the right candidates and consider locality working. This role will involve remote working/hybrid working options however there will be a requirement to work from the office on certain days to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

Providing talking therapies to clients with Eating Disorders, providing supervision/training to other staff and acting as a part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team. They will carry a caseload of complex clients and be expected to be an important contributor in the team management of the most complex clients who present to the service.

The successful candidate will undertake direct clinical work, supervision, consultation and contribute to teaching and service development as well as helping to consult and guide on client’s psychological care, from a trauma informed perspective. The team are trained in different therapy models including CBT, CAT, EMDR and integrative therapy and you will be encouraged and supported to undertake further training.

Previous experience of eating disorders is necessary. You will be provided with professional and clinical supervision, and there will be multiple opportunities to develop your specialist clinical skills. There are opportunities to link with other Practitioners working in the eating disorder community and inpatient services across the Trust, and more widely across other services

Person specification


Knowledge and Expertise


Essential criteria

* Skills in conducting complex psychological assessment and intervention frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
* Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing complex and /or clinically sensitive information to clients and professional colleagues within and outside the NHS.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Skills in providing Consultation to other professionals and nonprofessional groups.


Desirable criteria

* Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health.
* Knowledge of supervision theory and practice.
* Skills in working with people with complex and specialist needs.
* Ability to apply psychological knowledge creatively in developing new initiatives.


Qualifications


Essential criteria

* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) or
* BPS approved Diploma or Masters in Counselling Psychology or
* Masters level qualification in psychotherapy Chartered Status


Desirable criteria

* Additional Psychotherapy qualification
* Core NHS/Social Services professional training


Experience


Essential criteria

* Experience of engaging and sustaining work with complex clients.
* Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological care.


Desirable criteria

* Experience of liaison with other health professionals.
