An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 7) for our ARC-MK (Addiction Recovery Community Milton Keynes) service, working within the Criminal Justice team

The aim of the role is to provide specialist Addiction nursing support to facilitate timely assessment, engagement and intervention for patients within the Criminal justice system with substance use needs, supporting integration into the community, preventing reoffending and facilitating engagement to the local community substance misuse team ARC-MK .
The role involves working with a wide range of services such as the police, probation, the court and legal services. Successful candidates will need to have excellent communication skills as well as the flexibility to work alongside these different groups.
Candidates will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as having the skills and confidence to work as individuals in a range of environments. Supervision and consultation is available to the team to support practice. Candidates will need to submit an application for Police vetting clearance and have it approved before a contract can be agreed.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Also, as a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist your role will be supporting the day to day operational management of the team with the senior management team.
We are looking for an experienced registered nurse, with knowledge of mental health/ substance misuse disorders and the criminal Justice system and demonstrable experience in specialist assessment and decision making. The role is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for their next experience in managing community addiction services.

Experience
Essential criteria
* Teaching and Assessing qualification ENB 998 / SLICE or equivalent eg: mentorship
* Experience in undertaking Risk Assessments and Risk Management
* Case management experience
* Extensive clinical experience
* Experienced and competent in the supply and administration of CNWL Trust Hepatitis Patient Group Directions
* Experienced in the supply and administration of Hepatitis vaccines
* Experience in supervising junior staff
* Experience in Mental or general Health
Desirable criteria
* Experience of teaching others and willingness to undertake Teaching and Assessing qualification within six months of commencing post.
* Experience of working in and delivering services to injecting drug users.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* RMN / RN
* Evidence of continuing personal development and post-registration training in nursing care
* Knowledge and current relevant clinical experience within substance misuse services.
* Knowledge of the criminal justice system
Desirable criteria
* Bachelors degree
* Completed the Non Medical Prescriber course
* Completed the Motivational Interviewing Training Module
* Training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
* Diploma in Drugs and Alcohol Studies or equivalent qualification

* Sound clinical knowledge and understanding of current NHS policies and national drug issues/policies.
* Good verbal, written and presentation skills.
* Good interpersonal skills in order to communicate and negotiate effectively, both inside and outside the Trust.
* Ability to work independently and to prioritise effectively
* Ability to assess and treat people with dual diagnosis
* Evidence of effective leadership and organisational skills.
* Evidence of the ability to work in a changing and stressful situation.
* Evidence of ability to teach/disseminate knowledge and skills
* Ability to treat service users with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach, which considers the needs of the whole person
* Able to build constructive relationships with warmth and empathy, using good communication skills
* IT literate: competent using Microsoft Word and able to report clinical activity data on patient information systems.
