The Role
We are seeking an Analytical Scientist to join our dynamic team in Reading. This role is central to supporting early product development, QC release, stability testing, and analytical method validation. You will work with a range of analytical techniques and contribute to formulation development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

* Perform routine analysis using techniques such as HPLC, FTIR, UV, KF, Dissolution, and potentially NGI, ED, PSD, XRPD, and cleaning verification.
* Support project activities including data evaluation, problem solving, and method development with minimal supervision.
* Execute analytical procedures accurately and maintain clear, concise documentation in line with ALCOA+ principles.
* Ensure GMP compliance across laboratory operations and equipment, raising issues proactively.
* Progress to Level 2 competency on most equipment/techniques and perform routine analysis reliably.
* Participate in method development, optimisation, and validation activities under supervision.
* Plan and execute daily work independently, maintaining high standards and minimal errors.
* Contribute to lab maintenance and calibration tasks.
* Troubleshoot analytical and equipment issues with minimal supervision.
* Generate, trend, and evaluate scientific data and compile reports/protocols aligned with project objectives.

Qualifications And Experience

* Minimum HND/HNC or equivalent experience in a laboratory-focused discipline.
* Basic understanding of or experience working to cGMP standards preferred.
* Experience in the use of HPLC equipment is essential.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills And Abilities

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Comfortable working in a hazardous environment with strict safety protocols.
* Willingness to work outside standard hours when required.
* Strong team player with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
