Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Support Assistant to work across a cluster of schools in South Birmingham, supporting students well being, behaviour, and personal development. This is a full‑time position, starting immediately, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on young people’s lives.
About the Role
As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Working closely with school leadership teams, SENCOs, and safeguarding leads, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group pastoral support
* Assist with behaviour intervention plans
* Build positive, trusted relationships with pupils
* Support attendance, well being, and engagement strategies
* Help maintain a calm, inclusive school environment
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as needed
* Contribute to safeguarding and pastoral reporting

* Previous experience in a pastoral, behaviour, mentoring, or youth support role
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* The ability to manage challenging situations professionally
* An understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusive practice
* A passion for helping young people thrive
