Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, we will give you the training and support to thrive.
Drivers are desirable (but not essential) – you may work across different services in the area.
About the role
You will be supporting people with a range of needs to live happy, independent lives — at home and in the community. Your day might include bowling trips, discos in the service, bingo, arts & crafts, café trips for coffee & cake, attending local day centres with the people we support, and more! Each day brings something new – full of fresh challenges, meaningful moments, and the chance to make a real impact on the lives of the people we support.
In this rewarding role, you will also provide personalised support based on each individual’s needs, including personal care, manual handling, and specialist areas like feeding and dementia.

Shifts & Hours
* We’re ideally looking for part-time team members (up to 30 hours per week), but we’re happy to discuss your availability at the pre-interview stage.
* Shifts can vary between 7am-10pm and weekend work is required so flexibility is essential.
* There are sleep-in shifts also required at some services, offering a flat rate of £63.70.
Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are not able to support new visa applications or sponsorship requests for this vacancy.
