Teaching Assistant Primary School in Rickmansworth Long-Term, Full-Time

Job Description:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, assisting with the development of key skills and academic progress.
* Support the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
* Assist with classroom management, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment.
* Foster students' social, emotional, and behavioural development using effective support strategies.
* Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and supporting individual learning plans where necessary.
* Help students develop independence in their learning and social interactions, encouraging them to engage with all school activities.
* Work closely with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on effective support strategies.
* Be an active member of the school team, attending meetings and participating in professional development opportunities.
Our ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school (experience preferred but not essential).
* Be passionate about supporting children s learning and development.
* Have a strong understanding of child development and how to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
* Be proactive, flexible, and able to respond to the changing needs of the students and the school.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
* Be empathetic, patient, and committed to supporting children in their learning and personal growth.
* Have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Hold or be willing to obtain a clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
* Have or be willing to undertake additional training in relevant areas such as safeguarding and first aid.
