As a Component Design Engineer, you will be part of the Global Mechanical Systems Capability function. You will create engineering solutions that satisfy functional and physical requirements at the Product System and Sub-System level. The solutions must exhibit robustness for manufacturing capability.
Working within ET&S (Engineering, Technology and Safety), you will be responsible for delivering on-time, high-quality component design artefacts for mechanical components and electromechanical assemblies, including documents, 3D models, 2D drawings with GD&T, meeting all requirements. You will participate within an IPT described by the Product Lifecycle System (PLS) and operate according to Rolls-Royce policies and processes.
You will manage the technical activities for subsystem integration and enable lifecycle profitability through Supply Chain Design.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver design solutions for mechanical and electromechanical components considering safety, manufacturing, robustness, cost, weight, and maintainability.
* Ensure quality through checking design documents, models, and drawings per RRMS standards and Zero Defects approach.
* Perform analyses using calculations and tools to dimension parts and components against requirements.
* Manage external design projects with suppliers and design service providers, leading to design approval.
* Execute subsystem integration using Systems Engineering and Robust Design tools to meet requirements.

We seek candidates who embody safety, integrity, simplicity, and impact. Essential qualifications include:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Strong CAD skills in Siemens NX or similar, with experience in complex geometry and metallic Additive Layer Manufacturing.
* Familiarity with PLM systems like Teamcenter.
* Knowledge of mechanical design methodologies and cross-disciplinary engineering concepts.
* Ability to apply logical and innovative thinking to technical problems.
* Understanding of product integrity, liability, and certification frameworks.
