NHS Grampian is looking for a motivated, experienced professional to take up the permanent role of Procurement Contract Manager. This person will manage, monitor and control the effective contract management of identified contracts within NHS Grampian (NHSG), including the Laboratory Managed Service Contract, to deliver financial and other benefits to the operational services supported.
They will ensure there is a clear focus on the delivery of high quality, economic, safe and effective contractual management by both parties (NHSG and the suppliers) to deliver the objectives required from the relevant contracts and NHSG’s overall business targets
This person will be responsible for the achievement of key contract delivery targets, and developing the tactical plans to lead and deliver this. They will have high quality interpersonal, facilitation, leadership, negotiation, team working, written and oral communication skills as these are central to the post holders’ activities.
The post holder is expected to have competent knowledge of public procurement law and regulations and its application and compliance within the procurement and contract management process. Experience in a health board clinical or operational service would be an advantage.
They will possess a relevant degree and/or shall be a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or have equivalent experience. The relevant theoretical specialist knowledge evidenced shall be supported by relevant experience and evidence of working in a complex and service led environment in a similar role in a large public sector or private organisation. The post holder shall be responsible for developing and ensuring performance, finance, payment and contractual management of systems that are essential in ensuring contracts are delivered within cost, time and quality parameters on an ongoing basis whilst effectively managing risks.
This is a full time (37 hours) permanent post.
