About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Mental Health Support Worker to join our growing team in Cardiff. In this rewarding role, you will provide emotional and practical support to children and young people with mental health needs, empowering them to live fulfilling, safe, and independent lives.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care, while promoting dignity, respect, and positive outcomes for every individual.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct care and emotional support to children and young people with mental health needs.
* Lead, support, and mentor a team of support workers during shifts.
* Develop, review, and update care plans and risk assessments tailored to individual needs.
* Administer and monitor medication in line with company policies and procedures.
* Promote independence, self‑esteem, and wellbeing in all aspects of care.
* Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all service users.
Requirements
* Minimum 1 year of experience supporting individuals with mental health needs.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, mental health conditions, and recovery models.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including sleep‑ins and on‑call duties.
* Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
* Enhanced DBS check required.
* Must provide: a copy of your passport, and a Share Code (if you are not a British passport holder).
