The Children and Families Department takes a strengths-based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this 'Our Nottinghamshire Approach'. Watch the two minute animation to learn more.
Be there for your community when they need you most- and we'll be there for you. Join Clayfields House as Team Manager and help create lasting, positive change in the lives of vulnerable young people.

The Role
Clayfields House, a Secure Children's Home ran by Nottinghamshire County Council, is looking for an experienced, values-driven Team Manager to lead one of our residential care teams. This is a demanding, highly rewarding role where your leadership, judgement, and compassion will directly shape the safety, stability, and futures of some of the most vulnerable young people in the country.

As Team Manager, you will provide visible, confident leadership, balancing operational oversight with strong management. You will safeguard young people, support staff, and maintain consistently high standards of care. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding role, requiring resilience, strong decision-making skills and a commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

What You'll Be Responsible For

* Leading, supporting, and developing a residential care team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care for young people.
* Working closely with parents, carers, youth justice professionals, social workers, and partner agencies.
* Providing clear safeguarding leadership and responding decisively to concerns or incidents.
* Monitoring practice through quality assurance tools, audits, and reflective supervision.
* Creating a positive, accountable team culture that reflects our THINKER values: Trust, Honesty, Integrity, Non-judgemental practice, Kindness, Empathy, and Respect
* Acting as a key role model for safe, ethical, and child-centred practice within a secure setting.

Required Skills And Qualifications
You don't need previous secure-estate experience- we'll train you. What matters most is leadership experience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to young people.

You Will Bring

* At least 3 years management experience in social care, criminal justice, residential, or a relevant field.
* A relevant professional qualification e.g. Social Work (i.e. DipSw, CQSW), Youth Justice (i.e. YJEPC), Criminology Degree, Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
* Proven experience in working with external stakeholders and professionals.
* Experience chairing meetings and carrying out reviews.
* The ability to lead calmly and decisively in a fast-paced environment
* Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and quality assurance processes.

You Will Also Be

* Motivational and supportive, able to inspire confidence within your team.
* Confident communicating with young people, families, and professionals, even in challenging or sensitive situations.
* Committed to inclusion, fairness, and continuous improvement
* Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, secure environment
