Overview
We invite applications for a probationary (tenure-track) appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Management, with a focus on contributing to the Sport and Social Impact Research Group. The successful candidate will help drive the School's vision of being a global leader in inclusive excellence in research and education through a multidisciplinary approach to Kinesiology. The School of Kinesiology is committed to constructing a dynamic, supportive space that integrates principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, decolonization, and accessibility among all members. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing work that considers how intersecting relationships of power shape individuals, groups, cultures, and ways of knowing. Teaching and research will demonstrate potential for meaningful engagement with, and be inclusive of, students from equity-owed communities. The effective date of the appointment is July 1, 2026, or as negotiated. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to teaching and research in Management within the School of Kinesiology.
* Engage with the Sport and Social Impact Research Group and align with the School’s research clusters: Brain Health, Mobility, and Social Impact.
* Demonstrate a record of research excellence and potential to secure external funding, with high-quality scholarly outputs.
* Participate in service to the School of Kinesiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, and the University.
* Collaborate in interdisciplinary environments and align research with one or more Faculty of Health Sciences Research Centres and Groups.
* Demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, decolonization, and accessibility in teaching and research.
Qualifications
* PhD in Kinesiology or a related field at the start of the appointment. Post-doctoral research experience is an asset.
* Preference for research and teaching in areas such as leadership, governance and policy, sport for development, entrepreneurship, critical events studies, or related fields.
* Evidence of potential to secure external funding and produce scholarly outputs.
* Ability to contribute to an inclusive and diverse academic community and align with the Faculty of Health Sciences Research Centres and Groups.
Appointment Details
The effective date of the appointment is July 1, 2026, or as negotiated. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
