Role Purpose:
The Senior Loan Portfolio Manager will be responsible for overseeing the loan origination and portfolio management processes, ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of our lending activities. This position requires a deep understanding of lending principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to make sound credit decisions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our lending business.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Origination and Underwriting:
* Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers, analysing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
* Make informed lending decisions, balancing risk and profitability considerations.
* Oversee the management and administration of the loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor loan performance, review portfolio quality, and develop strategies to minimize credit risk.
* Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and make recommendations for portfolio adjustments as necessary.
* Provide leadership and guidance to the loan origination and portfolio management teams.
* Set performance targets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
* Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
* Cultivate and maintain relationships with borrowers, ensuring excellent customer service and addressing their financing needs.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as credit analysts, legal, and compliance teams, to facilitate efficient loan processing and closing.
Role Requirements:
* Proven experience in loan origination, credit analysis, and portfolio management, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of lending principles, credit analysis techniques, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex credit situations and make informed decisions.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing a team.
* Solid understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and risk assessment.
* Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficient in using loan management software and MS Office Suite.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
