Overview

Business Development Manager - Specification Sales, with focus on high-end decorative lighting, to grow a division from £600k to £5m over the next 3 years. Hybrid/Remote/Some office – Teams/Zoom – collaborate with a high energy Sales Director.

Route to market experience is essential (not product). The role requires a super sales and relationship builder who can engage with designers, architects, and project journeys, selling into care homes, hospitality and leisure sectors.


Salary and Benefits

£56,000 - £62,000 (DOE) plus car and superb commission and bonus structure. A genuine long-term career role with progression and salary improvements and big future earning potential. Great benefits; all expenses paid.

Manage £1.2m of revenue and grow the spec division (work with the SD – full support) with lots of autonomy.

UK manufacturing and supply chain – understanding lead times is key to this sales role. Build relationships, sell a product range, work with key stakeholders, increase sales and promote the brand.

You must have specification sales experience and have sold into hospitality and leisure.

This is an established UK based manufacturer and distributor trading UK wide and globally. A new Specification Sales role created to grow the account base and revenue across the leisure & hospitality sectors. Experience and contacts in the industry would be desirable, along with a good understanding of lead times. We need someone proactive, driven, commercially aware who can present to architects, lighting specifiers, designers and hospitality groups. Can you build relationships with key stakeholders and DRIVE SALES?


The Role

* Prospect high potential new corporate customers and grow new revenue, scheduling meetings and presentations to assist in making this business the preferred choice.
* Responsible for the sales of bespoke products, liaising with internal cross-functional teams to effectively plan and share upcoming project demands.
* Create and maintain an active pipeline of projects and opportunities, engaging with key influencers and decision makers to increase sales.
* Develop high levels of product knowledge to answer customer questions and provide technical advice as required.
* Use CRM tools to log projects, plan calls, notes and quotations.
* Monitor and analyse sales performance and implement strategies to meet changing market conditions.
* Collaborate with the sales team and senior management to meet or exceed sales targets.
* Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the UK Lighting Market.
* Attend trade shows and industry events to maximise networking and relationship-building opportunities.
* Provide regular updates to line manager and senior management team.


The Candidate

* Pro-active and proven sales approach with the ability to win and grow new business.
* Experience selling directly into the hospitality industry with a strong network and market knowledge.
* Excellent negotiation, influencing and account management skills.
* Experience in target-driven sales roles with a strong drive to achieve.
* Ability to build and maintain long-lasting customer relationships and generate new leads.
* Strong organisational and communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
* CRM software proficiency is desirable.
* Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel and stay away as required.
