Overview
An opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Band 6 Specialist Cardiac Radiographer within Cardiology & X-ray Imaging. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic HCPC registered radiographer to join our dynamic imaging team at UHPT. Applications are welcomed from Radiographers with proven experience within an acute care setting, demonstrating a sound clinical knowledge of diagnostic radiography from within the UK and the NHS in general. Previous demonstrable experience of working within a Cardiac Catheter Laboratory in the NHS & UK and participation in a 24/7 on‑call service is highly desirable. Within this role you will be expected to work within a multi‑disciplinary team to support the diverse range of cardiac procedures and therapies offered at the South West Cardio‑Thoracic Centre (SWCC), the Tertiary Unit for the South West. We provide imaging support for Primary PCI, complex PCI including CTO's, TAVI, complex devices such as CRT‑D and a variety of EPS procedures.
Qualifications & Preferences
* Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who can display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
HCPC registration and experience within an acute care setting with diagnostic radiography in UK/NHS are required. Demonstrable experience working within a Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and 24/7 on‑call service is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to support cardiac procedures and therapies.
* Provide imaging support for Primary PCI, complex PCI (CTO), TAVI, CRT‑D, and EPS procedures.
* Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota and a rotation into the general X‑ray department.
* Assist with day‑to‑day organisation of the clinical area, ensuring effective coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
* Supervise and train undergraduate and apprentice radiographers.
* Maintain HCPC Standards of Conduct and UHPT values, ensure radiation protection compliance, and demonstrate good communication skills.
* Support teaching and development of learners.
* Work flexible hours across the week as per Agenda for Change 7‑day working.

Recent collaboration with Cardiology has enabled suitably motivated Cardiac Radiographers to study at postgraduate level in Echocardiography with a view to career progression and possible reporting opportunities at Band 7 level. The department has 3 state‑of‑the‑art Philips Azurion 7 Cardiac Imaging Systems with integrated IVUS, OCT, and pressure wire systems.
