Overview
The Environment Agency is seeking two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) within the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance (STA) directorate. The PMO supports change, transformation, and continuous improvement across the business by shaping and optimising project Portfolios, ensuring strategic alignment, improving decision-making, and providing evidence to manage risk.
This role offers hands-on experience in change and transformation with development opportunities and strong support from the team and peers. You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers to help set standards for benefits and value management and embed them across the portfolio. You will help teams identify, value, and validate project benefits.
Responsibilities
* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers to support portfolio management.
* Help set and embed standards for benefits and value management across projects and programmes.
* Identify, value, and validate project benefits and their impact on delivery and outcomes.
* Collaborate across organisational boundaries to build constructive relationships and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
* Produce guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Support development and training opportunities within the team.
* Prepare dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel) to communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
* Communicate complex analysis in a clear, persuasive manner to stakeholders.
Experience and Qualifications
* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
* Clear communication skills; able to explain complex analysis simply to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation and adaptability; comfortable working independently and in a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Ability to work with diverse colleagues and consider diversity issues in work.

* Location: EA Office base; national role; hybrid working arrangements; some travel and overnights may be required.
