Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Technician / Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. Role Overview The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager with the day-to-day operations of the finance department. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, including reconciliations, ledger work, reporting, and assisting with month-end processes. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports Maintain purchase and sales ledgers Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with budgeting and forecasting Support payroll preparation Prepare VAT returns and statutory filings Process invoices, payments, and handle credit control as required Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams Support improvements to financial procedures and controls Provide general administrative and finance support to the team Required Experience & Skills Previous experience in an Accounts Technician, Assistant Accountant, or similar finance role Part-qualified or fully qualified (e.g., IATI/ATI/AAT) or equivalent experience Strong understanding of accounting principles Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational and time-management abilities Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Confident communicator Experience within the construction or engineering industry (desired but not essential) Whats on Offer £35,000 annual salary Full-time, permanent, office-based role Join a supportive and reputable employer Excellent long-term stability and career prospects How to Apply To apply or find out more, please contact Reactive Recruitment.
