Apprentice Electrician – 2026 - Doncaster
Cementation Skanska are an internationally recognised specialist and one of the UK’s leading piling and foundation contractors. We are experts in all piling techniques, working on multiple projects from buildings to complex infrastructure. Using the latest techniques, our teams are at the forefront of implementing new ideas and technology.
Our workshops have been established in Bentley, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, for almost a century. We provide a huge range of manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance services, using specialist equipment and precision tooling.
The expertise of our teams of mechanical and civil engineers includes production design, fabrication, welding, electrical engineering, hydraulics, and computer numerical control machining.
This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop the skills, knowledge, and qualifications needed to become a fully qualified electrician, supporting major construction and engineering projects.
What you will learn to do:
1. Assist qualified electricians with the installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
2. Learn to work safely on construction sites in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
3. Support the installation of wiring, containment, lighting, power systems, and associated electrical components.
4. Carry out basic fault finding and troubleshooting under supervision.
5. Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information.
6. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition.
What you'll bring to the role:
7. You will hold Grade 4 or equivalent in 4 GCSE subjects including English, Maths and a Science us to successfully enrol you on the apprenticeship

9. Dependable team player who actively supports and promotes collective success
10. You must have lived in the UK in the last 3 years and have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for an apprenticeship. We are not able to proceed with applications that require visa sponsorship.
11. We are not able to proceed with applications from candidates that have already achieved a degree in a similar discipline.
What qualification will you be studying towards?
Your time will be split between studying at Doncaster College for a Level 3 Electrician/Maintenance Apprenticeship Standard qualification, whilst developing new skills in the workplace with on-the-job training.
