Brick Kiln Composites is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Nightshift Quality Inspector to join our growing, high-performance manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional who is passionate about precision inspection and ensuring that composite components meet the highest standards of accuracy, performance, and workmanship.


The Role

As a Nightshift Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in the inspection and verification of advanced composite components throughout the manufacturing process. Using a variety of metrology equipment and inspection techniques, you will ensure that all components conform to engineering requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining exceptional quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect composite components using a range of metrology equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Carry out visual inspections and dimensional verification using hand-held measuring equipment.
  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) where required. Desired but not essential.
  • Utilise Romer Arms for probing and scanning activities.
  • Ensure components are inspected and processed within required production timescales.
  • Record inspection results accurately and maintain up-to-date quality documentation.
  • Communicate inspection findings clearly and effectively with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions where quality concerns are identified.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance inspection methods and quality processes.
  • Provide support to metallic component inspection activities when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and quality standards and procedures.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience within a manufacturing or quality inspection environment.
  • Proven experience inspecting composite components, ideally within motorsport, automotive, aerospace, marine, or other high-performance manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience using a variety of inspection and metrology equipment, including hand measurement tools and CMMs.
  • Previous experience using Romer Arms.
  • Experience with PolyWorks software is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials, including composites and metals,
  • The ability to independently assess component conformity and make informed quality decisions.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.


Working Hours

Weekday Night Shift, Monday to Thursday (40 hours over 4 nights)
