Job Description:
Assistant General Manager | Full Time
At Wagamama, we’re an eating house for the soul. With over 160 UK restaurants and growing, our purpose is to nourish the world from bowl to soul. Inspired by fast-paced Japanese ramen bars since 1992, Wagamama is a celebration of Asian food brought to life.
We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to join us on our journey of true nourishment.
The role:
As an Assistant General Manager, you'll be an integral part of the restaurant leadership team, supporting the General Manager in leading the restaurant in the Wagamama way. You’ll embody our values, inspire and motivate your team to provide exceptional service, and strive to exceed expectations. You should have a passion for people, food, and hospitality, and be driven to make positive change.
Benefits include a competitive salary, a £3000 bonus opportunity per year, an average of £140 tips per week, access to Wagestream for up to 30% of earnings before payday, a dedicated 6-week training program, free Wagamama food allowance on shifts, discounts at Wagamama and other brands, internal progression opportunities, wellness programs, family-friendly policies, and financial wellbeing support.
What we look for:
* An experienced hospitality manager capable of leading a team positively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to have genuine conversations and support your team.
* Experience understanding restaurant financial performance and managing budgets.
* A passionate leader skilled in team performance and development.
* An inspiring individual who motivates their team to grow and succeed.
* A proactive problem solver who can make quick decisions.
The Wagamama way:
Our philosophy of Kaizen (good change) shapes everything we do, from our food to our work culture. We are committed to positive change in our communities and the planet. We celebrate diversity, value personality over perfection, and foster a supportive environment where everyone’s unique story is welcomed. We promise to support you and encourage you to be your authentic self. Wagamama is proudly part of Disability Confident.
*Tips are 100% for our teams and vary by restaurant. They are not guaranteed wages and are left at guests’ discretion.
