2. Create accessible prototypes and clear system user flows to illustrate ideas and inform design documentation when necessary.
3. Use insights to identify data points to validate a design's success or failure and determine the necessary adjustments.
4. Own the balance of your systems and their integration within the overall game progression, collaborating with the principal system designer and analytics team.
5. Continuously play the game and provide insights on potential improvements.
6. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to navigate technical limitations, proactively identify risks and roadblocks, and propose innovative solutions.
7. Provide technical references for the wider design team, evaluate features and settings, and share best practices in production workflows.
8. Respond rapidly to player feedback and telemetry to enhance the player experience while maintaining the game’s vision.
9. Champion innovation and continuous improvement by reviewing and evolving design tools, processes, and pipelines.
10. Possess hands-on systems design experience and technical knowledge, including schema creation, in-engine implementation, and tuning.
11. Be a critical and analytical thinker with an eye for detail, especially in system tweaking and balancing.
12. Have shipped or worked on at least one AAA console game built on a custom engine.
13. Experience in economy balancing or modeling is a bonus.
14. Be a self-starter, motivated, and thrive in an agile environment.
15. Experience with the User Testing process and championing data-informed design.
16. Be a great collaborator and communicator, comfortable working with teams, solving problems, and sharing work in playable builds.
This role appeals to experienced designers interested in psychology, UX, progression, pacing, and clear communication with multidisciplinary teams.
