Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding Team (Leicestershire County Council)

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated Safeguarding Team. This crucial role requires a compassionate and driven professional with expertise in safeguarding vulnerable children.
About the Role:
Conduct thorough and timely investigations into allegations of child abuse and neglect.
Develop and implement effective safeguarding plans, working collaboratively with multi-agency partners (police, health professionals, education).
Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on complex safeguarding cases.
Supervise and mentor junior social workers, promoting best practice and professional development.
Manage a complex caseload, prioritizing urgent cases and adhering to statutory timescales.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives and policy development within the team.
Requirements:
Registered with Social Care England.
Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Significant experience in child protection or safeguarding is essential. Experience in a supervisory or senior role is highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child safeguarding.
Excellent assessment, communication, and case management skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage challenging situations.
