Solution Engineer – Gateley

The purpose of this role is to provide bespoke development and configuration management to IT solutions using Gateley and industry standard development tools. You will be required to understand business requirements and accordingly develop configuration specifications. Analyse and resolve system defects and problems.
Responsibilities
* Design and provide configuration updates to third‑party applications and systems.
* Design and deliver applications on and low‑code development platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate.
* Analyse applications and platforms and recommend improvements.
* Develop workflows to align with operational requirements of internal and external customers on third‑party applications and using low‑code development tools.
* Create integrations between different applications and platforms.
* Design, code, document and troubleshoot software programs.
* Adhere to (and suggest improvements to) Gateley’s Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) to write clean, secure, scalable and maintainable code.
* Maintain detailed technical and functional specifications.
* Support the wider IT team with tasks that may be outside the core role as we are a relatively small, high‑performing team.
* Behave in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

The team works closely with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions that support our growth and enhance client experience. From integrating emerging technologies to optimising existing systems, we stay ahead of the curve.
Essential Qualifications
* IT qualifications such as a computer science degree.
* Excellent analysis, troubleshooting and resolution skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Good knowledge of IT systems in general and development tools on the Microsoft platform.
* Understanding of data warehousing and analysis.
* Previous experience delivering solutions to a professional services audience.
Ideal Qualifications
* Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft .NET (MCSD) and VB.NET/C#.
* Working knowledge of 3E Practice Management systems and other professional service applications.
* Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
* Knowledgeable/fluent in programming languages, including C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, MS SQL, XML, HTML and CSS.
* Microsoft SQL DBA experience.
* Experience in a development or configuration role on workflow or accounting solutions, ideally within a law firm setting.
* Microsoft DevOps experience.
