MERITUS Talent is partnering with one of the world's largest defence and national security organisations to recruit a Commercial Lead on a permanent basis.
Commercial Lead - Permanent - Cheltenham - Up to GBP65,000 per annum - Hybrid Working - Compressed Fortnight - SC Clearance
The Commercial Lead will be responsible for managing commercial and contracts activities on specific multi-million pound contracts supporting Defence & National Security customers. The role also involves supporting the wider Commercial team on other contracts and opportunities across sectors such as Cyber, Maritime, and Aerospace.
Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the commercial point of contact for key multi-million pound contracts, supporting Defence & National Security customers, and influence stakeholders on commercial topics.
2. Assess the impact of changes to contractual terms and lead programme teams in incorporating such changes into proposals.
3. Negotiate contract terms, licenses, scope, and pricing, balancing risks and benefits, in collaboration with Programme Managers, Business Development, Finance, and Supply Chain teams within approval frameworks.
4. Support legal review processes for contracts.
5. Assist the Commercial team with high-value, complex proposals and negotiations.
Your Experience:
1. Relevant degree (e.g., Law, Business, Economics) and significant experience in commercial management within Defence, IT, or engineering environments.
2. Proven ability to build strong customer relationships.
3. Experience in proposal work and reviewing medium to large, complex captures.
4. Success in developing negotiation strategies and supporting business decisions.
5. Experience in process development.
