We're seeking a dynamic, consumer-obsessed Head of Brand (12-month FTC). If you thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation and connect with millions of consumers, this is your moment.
The Head of Brand is a strategic role focusing on how Centrica’s brands — primarily British Gas and Hive — are positioned and perceived by over 10 million existing and prospective customers. You’ll also lead our employer brand experience across Centrica, fostering pride and purpose.
Leading our Brand Centre of Excellence, you’ll oversee a diverse team of strategists, insights teams, creatives, and brand managers. Your responsibilities include setting brand priorities, refining creative platforms, and ensuring brand consistency across the customer journey.
You should be brand-obsessed, with a deep understanding of customer segments, driven by insight, data, and creativity.
Our recent work has established a clear brand strategy for British Gas and Hive. As custodian for 12 months, you will build on this foundation, refining how our brands appear and resonate with customers.
About the role:
* Strategy: Define, own, and implement a rolling brand strategy aligned with our ambitions and environment.
* Architecture & purpose: Manage brand architecture to ensure clear, distinct brand identities.
* Internal champion: Promote pride and understanding of our brands internally.
* Audiences: Champion customer targets, embed insights, and bring them to life.
* Research & insight: Deliver brand and customer insights to inform strategies and propositions.
* Brand health & measurement: Set KPIs, track success, and intervene as needed.
* Team: Foster a high-performance, data-driven, collaborative team culture.

* Strong brand stewardship, setting high professional standards.
* Proven success in developing customer-focused, multi-portfolio strategies.
* Expertise in managing brand identities and guidelines.

* Experience building strategic relationships and leading teams.
* Budget management skills across multiple units.
* Strong agency partnership experience.
