The staff nurse/staff midwife is a member of the 0-19 Childrens Public Health Service within a locality team. The post holder will promote and protect the health and well-being of children, young people and their families from the ante-natal period through to age 19 and address inequalities. Fundamental to the aim of the service is universal access to the healthy child programme and early identification of additional and/or complex needs.
* Registered Nurse / Adult / Child / Mental Health or Registered Midwife.
* Current NMC registration.
* Relevant and recent nursing experience.
* Knowledge of current issues relating to public health priorities and addressing inequalities in outcomes.
* Understanding of adult/child safeguarding procedures.
* Understanding the national drivers with regards to providing a 0-19 service. North Tyneside Childrens Social Care has been graded Outstanding by Ofsted in 2025. Staff are provided with support and supervision from the Nurse Manager throughout their probationary period and beyond and have access to an identified preceptor.
