GSL Education are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join schools in the Nottingham area from September 2025. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them develop positive attitudes, self-regulation, and essential social skills. Responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant: Support pupils with additional behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom and during social activities. Assist in implementing personalised behaviour plans and interventions. Promote positive behaviour, self-confidence, and emotional well-being. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to monitor progress. Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment. Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant: Experience working with children with SEMH or challenging behaviour is highly desirable. Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and consistent in managing challenging behaviour. Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
