Facility Operations
An opportunity exists for suitable individuals to work within the Facility Services as an Assistant Chef at Bridgewater.
Term time only
30 hours per week
Grade N4

Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.
We have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chef’s and chef’s working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.

What we are looking for
We are currently looking for reliable and friendly people with a positive attitude to join our team as an Assistant Chef. It is desirable you have NVQ level 2 or City & Guilds catering qualification however a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a catering environment is essential.
Our Assistant Chefs will be required assist the Chef in a busy kitchen and once fully trained part of the role will be to work in other units when required.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has a Level 2 in Food Safety in Catering
* Able to deliver high standards of meal production and service
* Is a team player but able to use your own initiative
* Can have good relationships with others
* Is self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines
* Can work flexible hours including occasional evening and school holidays
* Is customer focused Has experience of working in a catering environment
