No room for arrogance - just a commitment to helping others and making an impact together.Our International Accounting & Finance team are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join on a contractual basis as one of the team goes on Maternity Leave. Our international accounting team supports our local and international financial reporting, internal controls, inter-company and transfer pricing activities. As a Financial Accountant you will support the close and reporting process with responsibility for preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, audit accounting concepts, and the monthly close process. As part of the international accounting team, you will report to the Head of Accounting in the international accounting team, and work with the wider team in Finance and Accounting.
You will:
1. Prepare and review month-end journals by working with different areas of the business to ensure all transactions are properly reflected.
2. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the company's financial statements in accordance with the US GAAP and local GAAP standards.
3. Prepare flux and variance explanations as part of the monthly close process.
4. Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and annual basis.
5. Review balances for certain areas, and produce reconciliations of both US GAAP ledgers and Local GAAP ledgers to ensure any differences are timely addressed.
6. Provide support for the annual US financial statement audit, periodic internal audits, and local statutory audits.
7. Build, document and support process improvements.
8. Maintain the VAT register for VAT returns and submissions.
9. Ad-hoc support to the International accounting team where required.
Requirements:
10. Qualified (CPA, ACCA, or ACA)
11. Exceptional analytical and Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLookUps, etc.
12. Strong knowledge of management accounting and financial accounting.
13. Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment.
14. Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail.
15. Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organisation.
16. A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
17. Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency.
18. Strong organisational skills.
19. Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods.
20. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
21. Experience with Oracle and XERO is highly desirable.
