Lead Pharmacist – Inpatient and Urgent Care (East Sussex) Band 8a | Permanent | Cavendish House, Hastings Salary: £55,690 – £62,682 per annum (pro rata for part time) Hours: 30 per week • Job share and flexible working considered Closing date: 16 October 2025 Job ref: 354-CO-21752 We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Pharmacist to join our friendly and forward-thinking Pharmacy team, supporting our inpatient and urgent care mental health services across East Sussex. This is a key leadership role for a pharmacist who’s passionate about improving outcomes for patients with complex mental health needs. You’ll provide strategic and clinical leadership for medicines management across our inpatient wards and urgent care teams, ensuring the safe, effective and compassionate use of medicines. As Lead Pharmacist for Inpatient and Urgent Care, you’ll oversee the clinical pharmacy service across sites in Hastings, Amberstone and Beechwood, working closely with Specialist Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and clinical teams. You’ll deliver direct patient care, advise on complex medication issues, and support the multidisciplinary team in evidence-based decision making. There’s also the opportunity to develop as a non-medical prescriber and further shape the role as part of our growing service. What you’ll bring We’re looking for an organised, flexible and engaging leader with strong clinical expertise in mental health. You’ll bring: A degree in Pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy. Significant experience in hospital or mental health pharmacy practice. Advanced clinical skills in medicines optimisation, risk management and communication. The ability to provide leadership, mentorship and specialist advice across professional groups.
