New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer – Product Support
Business Unit: You’ll be joining our Customer Service organisation, as part of the Product Support team. As a product engineer, you will be actively engaged in the New Product Introduction process for Etch, PVD, PECVD, and Release Etch systems (Current Product Lineup). This role involves occasional international travel throughout Europe, Asia, and the USA.
Purpose of the Role:
Engage with multi-functional teams worldwide to develop a plan to service these new products in the field.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Reduce program serviceability risk by acting as the Voice of Service throughout the Product Life Cycle (PLC) for new products by developing a service strategy that includes Cost of Service Modeling, Reliability Modeling, Retrofits, Intellectual Property protections, calibrations, and PM Optimizations.
* Build expertise in system operation, integration, and diagnostics through hands-on learning from Tech Support and Design Engineers to support Alpha & Beta Systems and retrofits.
* Develop a detailed Product Support Plan (PSP), Service Readiness Review (SRR), Design For Service (DFS), and Cost Of Service (COS) models by collaborating with engineering, marketing, finance, and service teams.
* Enhance product service education and knowledge within the organization using training, AR, coaching, documentation, and other tools to improve readiness.
* Conduct obsolescence risk analysis for spares and coordinate with the Spares Planning team to mitigate supply chain risks, including issue resolution and collaboration with GSS Engineering and Operations.
* Participate in service alert meetings and develop Plans of Action for critical issues, documenting Best Known Methods (BKM) and improvements.
* Support the NPI Best Practice Team by participating in discussions, training, and feedback to improve BKMs.
* Manage and support beta installs in person, auditing procedures, updating documents, identifying training needs, and resolving issues to improve future installs and upgrades.
* Travel internationally up to 25% as needed.
Candidate qualities:
* Logical thinking in providing customer solutions.
* Well-organized, capable of working autonomously across different time zones.
* Composed under pressure in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
* Strong communication skills to build good relationships with customers and colleagues.
Note: International travel may be at short notice, with expenses covered per policy.
Qualifications:
* Minimum HNC in Electrical/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics or related, with proven experience.
* Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Strong presentation skills and comfort speaking to various audiences.
* Experience with SPTS products, especially Plasma Etch, PVD, PECVD, or RE, is highly desirable.
* Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques.
