NHS Lothian serves approximately 1 million people, employs 35,000 staff, and is focused on improving health and wellbeing. Our Primary Care Pharmacy and Medicines Service is undergoing transformation, providing pharmaceutical care through a team of around 100 pharmacy staff across General Practices and Pharmacotherapy Hubs in Lothian.

Role and Opportunities:
These positions support the Scottish Government's strategy for pharmaceutical care and the development of a General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Service. You will work closely with GPs, practice staff, community pharmacists, and care home staff to promote safe, effective, and evidence-based prescribing. Opportunities include developing clinical and technical skills, working within GP practices and Pharmacotherapy Hubs, and participating in projects aligned with local and national priorities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants should have a National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or an equivalent Pharmacy Technician qualification and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Extensive post-certification experience is required. Primary care experience is not essential, as training will be supported; however, experience working with GPs is advantageous.
