We are hiring a Commercial Mechanical Engineer who is quality driven, dynamic and a skilled individual who is looking for a new adventure in the construction and engineering industry.
Role
As our Commercial Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining property services by delivering planned and reactive maintenance to an agreed programme, budget, and quality within the company's operational targets.
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance to all Plant Room Equipment as per maintenance schedules, assisting sub-contractors where necessary, monitoring repairs, or providing assistance where required.
* Carry out plant inspections, diagnose faults, fit parts, and carry out repairs to mechanical systems, such as pumps, valves, pipework etc.
* Apply knowledge of heating, hot water system operation and control with understanding of system design.
* Install replacement plant and components such as pumps, valves, pressure switches, automatic air vents etc.; install pipework including safe isolation of systems, repairs and modification.
* Carry out repairs within communal areas to radiators, valves, and pipework.
* Maintain and repair communal ventilation systems.
* Maintain and repair cold-water booster systems.
* Identify faults and report issues in a timely manner. Consult with suppliers to obtain replacement component costs, labour requirements and submit proposals to the Mechanical Supervisor.
* Complete digital records PPMs, planned works and reactive repairs using ACIMs software.
* Comply with safe working practices ensuring the safety of the workforce and public is always maintained.
* Liaise with stakeholders to ensure a high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
* Deliver planned commitments to the client, ensuring agreed KPI’s and service levels are met.
* Maintain high standard of customer service for all internal and external facing activities.
* Attend toolbox talks.
* Follow the company's Health and Safety Policy and related safe systems of work.
* Perform call‑out duties on a scheduled out-of-hours rota as required.
* Work Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 17:00 pm.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, DAH1, CORT1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1A, BMP1.
* Experience as a suitably qualified Commercial Mechanical Engineer working in commercial and domestic premises.
* Appropriate industry qualifications, time served in a mechanical/Commercial setting.
* Plumbing pipework skills, copper, steel including pipe threading and mechanical pressing.
* Basic electrical skills.
* Understanding of heating, hot water and ventilation systems.
* Use and ability to train in the use of PDA devices and company software.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Valid full clean driving licence maintained.
