The postholder will conduct internationally excellent research in the Financial Engineering Lab, a sub‑group of the Intelligent Systems Lab. We are particularly interested in research at the interface of Fintech and AI, including AI for finance, automated trading, agent‑based modelling of financial systems, blockchain‑based decentralised finance, and financial machine learning. The postholder will also carry out excellent research‑led teaching and related admin duties, supporting the MSc Financial Technology with Data Science. For Associate Professor level, there will be leadership responsibilities across teaching and research.

The ideal candidate will have experience of large‑scale data engineering on commercial cloud service stacks such as GCP, AWS or Azure, and associated machine learning platforms such as SageMaker and Vertex, as well as experience of decentralised application development on Ethereum blockchains.
