You will ensure a high quality, customer-focused Estate Management Service within the neighbourhood, ensuring effective customer liaison and promotion of tenant participation. All housing management functions must be carried out in accordance with Council policy and procedures. A key aspect will be to ensure that all rent arrears recovery and early intervention activities are conducted in line with policies to minimise debt owed.
Your duties include ensuring that the environment in your designated area is well maintained, clean, and tidy. You will highlight unresolved local problems to other service providers and take appropriate action in conjunction with the Local Housing Services Co-ordinator. You will visit tenants in their homes and conduct interviews at the office.
Essential qualifications and experience include housing experience with estate management and debt recovery, dealing with the public in their homes or interviews, experience in letter and report writing, and effective verbal and written communication skills. You should have knowledge of the Housing (Scotland) Act, Housing Benefit Regulations, and the Tenants Rights Act. Willingness to work out of hours, including evenings and weekends, when required, is essential.
A national certificate level qualification in Housing, Business Studies, or equivalent is desirable, as is a full current driving license.
Please note this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding, for 21 months or until the requirement ceases, whichever is earlier.
