Overview
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid). Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits. Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri.
What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Authority (Design) you will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of the SPEN Strategic Telecoms Projects across Scotland and the interfaces into the SSEN, National Grid and Manweb telecoms networks. The role involves assisting projects and programmes operations in defining the technical standards and requirements of the SPEN telecoms strategic network. Providing technical leadership, you will guide delivery and ensure technical assurance is integrated into our ways of work. You will work with project and engineering teams to translate customer requirements and designs into deliverable work packages. You will contribute to the growth of the team, providing training and guidance to support skills development. You will be a trusted technical partner, providing representation and leadership, along with effective stakeholder management and communication at customer meetings where required. The role will involve some travel across Scotland and requires a full driving licence. You will provide 3rd line technical expertise and leadership in delivery, helping to diagnose and troubleshoot problems that cannot be resolved by lower support levels and act as the final point of escalation for delivery issues.
Who You Are / Qualifications
* Experience in legacy transmission technologies (PDH and SDH) is a must
* Experience in maintaining monitoring and troubleshooting networks and systems
* Knowledge of IP networking (WAN, LAN, MPLS) & Nokia S AR-H, Nokia N MF-P
* Excellent knowledge of routing, switching and data networking
* Experience working in a 3rd line support role
* Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, via Microsoft Visio including review of design documents prior to delivery for a customer
* Experience with XTran systems & Avara Systems (DXC/DFX/DB4)
* Understanding of Teleprotection (C37.94) implementation
* Must be eligible for SC Clearance
