A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Gardener to join a stunning private estate in Buckinghamshire. This role is ideal for candidates who have recently completed horticultural training, have some hands-on gardening experience, or are eager to develop their skills further. The estate provides excellent opportunities for growth, with training and support to help build a successful career in private estate gardening.
The traditional English estate comprises 5 acres of formal gardens, including multiple areas with mixed beds and borders, extensive formal lawns with tropical plants, an orchard with fruit trees, a kitchen garden, mature and young trees, and formal hedges. The garden is part of a 50-acre estate surrounding a 19th century, grade II listed property.
Within the grounds are numerous moats and a lake, where occasional debris clearing will be required. The client currently works with a local farmer for large-scale works such as tree removal and lawn mowing; however, the successful candidate must be comfortable working at heights and managing external contractors.
Flexibility is important, as driving duties will be required. A full UK driving license is essential, and a trailer license is desirable.
Applicants should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Spraying certification and chainsaw licenses are preferred but can be provided through training for the successful candidate.
Willingness to learn and develop practical gardening skills, including operating and maintaining garden machinery, is crucial. Prior experience with tractors is advantageous.
The successful candidate will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement at the client’s request.
