The Directorate of Public Health’s Health Improvement team coordinates and leads work to support the health improvement agenda. We work in close partnership with local authorities, third sector and community planning partners. The post holder will contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of evidence‑based health promotion activities with the overall aim of improving health of adults and young people in Tayside and reducing health inequalities.
Responsibilities
• Contribute to development, implementation and delivery of evidence‑based health promotion activities to improve health of adults and young people in Tayside and reduce health inequalities.
• Work closely with local authorities, third sector and community planning partners.
• Travel to cover duties throughout a wide geographical area.
Qualifications
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Experience working in health promotion or a related area.
• Understanding of health improvement policy agenda.
• Good project management skills and experience of partnership working.
• Training, facilitation and group work skills.
• Research and evaluation skills and IT skills.
• Some experience of working within Health Improvement initiatives is advantageous.
Employment details
• 30 hours per week (workable over 5 days Monday to Friday).
• Salary Scale: £33,247 – £41,424 pro rata.
You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
