Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) – Rotational Post
Band 7 – Fixed‑term, secondment or permanent contracts available. The role is based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary within the Emergency Pathway of Medicine & Unscheduled Care (MUSC). The rotation covers day and night shifts across the service from Monday to Sunday, following a 12‑hour shift pattern. The post holder will operate across the following units: Flow Navigation Centre (FNC), Acute Medicine (RAAC/Short Stay Medicine/AMIA), Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) and Emergency Department (ED).
Responsibilities
* Flow Navigation Centre (FNC): Act as a central point for professional discussions, direct referrals from the Scottish Ambulance Service, NHS24, primary care, police Scotland, cancer treatment helpline, care homes and community pharmacies, and support decision‑making through video and telephone consultations.
* Acute Medicine: Deliver high‑level autonomous clinical practice, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of adults presenting with acute, undifferentiated or complex medical conditions.
* Minor Injuries Unit (MIU): Work autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide person‑centred care for wounds, fractures, sprains, soft‑tissue injuries, burns and minor head injuries, ensuring timely and safe management.
* Emergency Department (ED): Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients presenting with undifferentiated, acute, traumatic and complex conditions; prioritise and escalations autonomously; guarantee safe and timely care.
Qualifications
* Evidence of working and thinking at Master’s level, demonstrated within a personal professional portfolio, and competency in advanced practice in acute care.
* Secure a Practice Supervisor and dedicate non‑clinical time to comply with the Advanced Practice Best Practice Guide.
