Hereward College, Main purpose and scope of post
To be responsible for the coordination of student recruitment and admissions to the college; including administration of the EHCP consultation process and safeguarding referrals at the point of application or consultation.

Responsibilities And Accountabilities - Detailed
* Day to day supervision of the Admissions Assistant post ensuring customer service excellence
* Responsible for the college student application process in line with departmental KPIs; receiving enquiries from prospective students, their parents/carers, schools and other external professionals
* Offer high quality advice and guidance to parents and professionals who are making enquiries on behalf of potential applicants, which may include an initial screen of Education, Health & Care Plans, and signposting to other organisations where appropriate
* Responsible for the receipt and internal distribution of EHCP consultations, timely return of responses and maintaining a clear audit trail
* Ensure electronic consultation files are established and maintained and are linked to applications as they are received
* Responsible for ensuring that applicant and consultation information is accurately recorded in the college management information system as well as Excel spreadsheets (including data tables) and producing reports as required
* Responsible for liaising with schools/health/social care and other external agencies to ensure appropriate information is received in respect of each applicant prior to assessment
* Close liaison with Admissions Panel members to agree an individualised assessment timetable ensuring that each applicant is interviewed by the relevant staff
* Close liaison with the Safeguarding team in respect of identifying and following up applicant safeguarding concerns
* On receipt of Admissions Panel minutes, ensure the college MIS system is updated accordingly post Panel, and that offer letters are sent to applicants in line with departmental KPIs
* Responsible for liaising with schools/health/social care and other external agencies post-Admissions Panel to request further information/clarification of queries raised during the assessment process
* Responsible for co-ordinating the transition programme for new students
* Responsible for co-ordinating and developing school liaison to raise awareness of the Hereward offer through visits, curriculum showcases and attending external events
* Along with the Events & Schools Liaison Officer, you are responsible for leading weekly campus tours to showcase our offer
* Ensure there is accurate tracking of events and attendance to ensure all applicants receive high quality advice and guidance e.g. attending a campus tour, curriculum showcase or virtual open event
* Responsible for organising College open days and new student parent forums
* Responsible for gathering feedback from staff, applicants and parents/carers at all stages of the Admissions process to inform and develop good practice
* Assist the Admissions & Student Services Manager with the organisation of other College events e.g. leavers’ ceremonies and new student induction days
* Contribute to the review of admissions policies/procedures and internal process improvement
* Be aware of relevant college policies and procedures and ensure college quality standards are maintained and followed
* Contribute to team meetings to inform development of the service through self-assessment and development planning process
* Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of young persons
* Contribute to performance reviews and undertake training as required
* Ensure compliance with college policies and procedures including Quality, Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety
* Any other duties within the scope of the job title and grade
* Be responsible for developing and maintaining skills and knowledge to competently perform own role through research and training as identified during the appraisal process
