Job Introduction

Help Us Design the Employee Experience at the BBC.

We’re looking for a creative, curious and collaborative People Experience Partner to join our People Experience (PX) team in HR.

This is a rare opportunity to bring your UX or Service Design expertise into a new space: designing for the people who work at the BBC. You’ll help empower HR into a user-centric approach function and shape our systems, services, and moments that matter across the employee lifecycle—from joining to growing, thriving, and leaving. You'll use design to solve meaningful people challenges and make the BBC a better place to work for everyone.

Our PX team is small but ambitious. We sit within HR, but our mindset is design-led. We use research, co-design and experience thinking to:

* Build PX capability across HR
* Support major HR programmes with user-centred insight and design
* Elevate how employees experience HR services and systems
* Respond to emerging priorities with agility and care

We're now looking for a new team members who will bring fresh design thinking, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for making a difference to colleagues across the BBC.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

* Use all your PX/CX experience, knowledge and methodologies to share and lead our projects from a user-centric approach
* Plan and run research to understand how employees experience key moments and processes at work
* Map journeys, systems, and service touchpoints to find opportunities for change
* Facilitate co-creation workshops with HR colleagues, leaders, and employees
* Prototype and iterate on tools, resources, or service improvements
* Support HR projects by embedding experience design into their development
* Champion inclusive and evidence-based design across the People function
* Help build PX knowledge and confidence in other HR teams
Are you the right candidate?

We think this role could be a great fit if you:

* Have experience in UX, Service Design, or Experience Strategy
* Are passionate about improving how people experience work
* Have strong skills in research, facilitation, and design thinking
* Can build trust and influence others—even when you're introducing new ways of working
* Are excited to work in a fast-paced, creative organisation like the BBC
* Are open to applying your design skills to HR, employee experience, and organisational change
* Have worked in the people space before, bringing people-related solutions to organisational opportunities.

You’ll also bring the behaviours we value on our team:

* Empathy, kindness, and active listening in how you engage with colleagues
* A people-first mindset that puts inclusion and care at the heart of your work
* The ability to get things done at pace without compromising quality
* A commitment to continuous learning, feedback, and improvement
* A desire to work across boundaries and help others grow in PX thinking
* Experience in the media, broadcasting industry or HR is welcome but not essential—we’ll support you to learn.

If you're a designer ready to shape meaningful, human-centred experiences at one of the UK’s most iconic organisations—we’d love to hear from you.
