A long-standing, well-regarded accountancy practice in Leatherhead is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their growing team. With a loyal and varied client base ranging from SMEs and owner-managed businesses to charities and group structures, the firm is known for its technical excellence and supportive, down-to-earth culture.
This role would suit a qualified audit professional looking to step into a managerial role or continue progressing within a practice that offers both autonomy and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of audit clients, overseeing the planning, fieldwork, and completion stages
* Supervise, mentor and review the work of junior staff and seniors
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering a high standard of service and building long-term relationships
* Ensure audits are carried out in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
* Liaise with partners on technical and strategic matters, including billing and client development
* Contribute to internal team development, process improvements, and training initiatives
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), audit regulations, and industry trends
Candidate Requirements
* ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
* Previous experience managing audit engagements in a UK accountancy practice
* Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and FRS 102
* Comfortable leading teams and supporting junior staff
* Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car is preferred, due to client site visits
