An exciting opportunity has arisen and we looking for a Deputy Leader childcare practitioner to work at our nursery in Penpych. This person must be fully committed to providing a high quality, safe and stimulating environment which encourages children to develop through exploration, curiosity and child led play.
The duties will include supporting the setting Leader to:
* Oversee the day-to-day management of the nursery, health and safety, safeguarding, policies & procedures, and complying with relevant legislation, including local authority and CIW and Flying Start requirements .
* Lead and manage the staff team including providing day-to-day guidance, supervisions, mentoring and support.
* Liaise with external agencies including Flying Start and ESTYN advisory teachers, Speech & language, educational Psychologists as well as other health professionals to obtain advice, guidance and support for the setting, children and their families
* Write reports, keeping all documentation including risk assessments up to date.
The Successful Candidate will:
· hold at least a recognised Level 3 Childcare Qualification and be willing to work towards their level 5 qualification.
· have a minimum of 2 years previous experience of working within an nursery or childcare setting setting as a level 3 childcare assistant.
· Work 32.5 hours per week, term time only, 8:00-3:00/ 8:30-3:30 and be willing and able to work beyond these hours on occasions it is needed
· Be enthusiastic and passionate about working with and improving children's lives
· Understand that while all children are different and develop and their own pace some need to be provided with extra support.
· Have experience and knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
· Work closely with the setting Leader and area manager to develop the setting.
· Be competent in using a computer, computer packages and apps.
Successful candidates will be given full support and training opportunities to include mandatory fields e.g. Safeguarding, First aid and those relating to continual professional development in addition to those reflecting good practice. Training may need to be undertaken outside of normal working hours.
