Our client, a respected educational institution in Teignmouth, Devon, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time Teacher Assistant to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment and assisting teachers in delivering high-quality education to our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with teachers to plan and implement engaging lessons and activities that align with the curriculum and cater to diverse learning needs
- Providing individualised support to students who require additional assistance, ensuring they can access the curriculum and make progress in their learning
- Supervising students during class activities, breaks, and extracurricular events, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
- Assisting with the preparation and organisation of teaching materials, resources, and displays to create a stimulating learning space
- Marking and providing feedback on students' work, in accordance with the school's assessment policies, to support their academic development
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behaviour, and communicating relevant information to teachers and parents as required
- Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated with best practices in education
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience working with children in an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the capacity to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing demands in a busy school environment
- A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with children, with a genuine commitment to their well-being and success
- Proficiency in using technology to support learning, such as interactive whiteboards, tablets, and educational software
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and a clear understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Flexibility and willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school, including supporting extracurricular activities and events
