Job Summary
Work to provide high standards of patient care as a Receptionist/Administrator/Health‑care support worker across multiple clinics in Northwest, travelling as needed. The role requires working four shifts per week, Monday to Saturday, 9.5 hours per day, on a fixed‑term one‑year contract.
Responsibilities
* Assist colleagues during sensitive examinations and treatments, ensuring patients are treated with respect, dignity and comfort.
* Chaperone as required, recognising deterioration and escalating appropriately.
* Maintain a caring, professional and cooperative environment for patients, significant others and colleagues.
* Undertake pregnancy tests and record results.
* Stock clinical areas and maintain the clinical/administrative environment to a high standard.
* Order and receive stock as necessary.
* Ensure infection prevention policies are adhered to.
* Respect confidentiality of information both on and off duty and apply principles of confidentiality, effective verbal and written communication and accurate documentation.
* Provide theatre support as required.
* Identify and raise risk or safeguarding concerns; support cleaning and restocking of work areas.
* Undertake medication management training, unpack medications, wear appropriate PPE, dispose of hazardous waste and follow COSHH, Health & Safety and Infection Control procedures.
* Deliver a patient‑centred reception and administration service; process case notes and invoices, liaise with clinical staff, coordinate patient treatment pathways, facilitate prescriptions and legal documents, prepare patient notes.
* Complete remote administrative duties, refer patients to external providers or NHS hospitals, and undertake cashiering duties.
* Support patients in making the right choice for their health.
* Take on any other duties commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the post.
* Work harmoniously with all personnel, communicate openly and courteously, maintain professional behaviour, observe safety rules, and adhere to NUPAS policy and Information Governance.
Qualifications
* Level 2 qualification (e.g., GCSE Grade A‑C, NVQ2) in a health‑related subject or Business Administration, or general GCSE level.
* Will meet Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment.
* Support a woman's right to request an abortion.
* Desirable: Care certificate.
Experience
* Recent reception or general clerical work experience, or recent Healthcare Assistant experience.
* Effective communication with diverse people and familiarity with safeguarding principles.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook.
* Ability to challenge poor behaviour, model good behaviour, respond to feedback, and maintain a positive, non‑judgemental approach.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training, offer flexibility to meet travel requirements, and support a pro‑choice stance.
Person Specification
* Must be willing to receive Hepatitis B vaccination if not already immune.
