Our client is a globally renowned company and a world leader in the supply of rolling bearings, linear technology, and automotive components. At their Peterlee location, they have a fantastic opportunity to join the Engineering team as a Multi-Skilled Technician.

Role Overview
They are seeking a Multi-Skilled Technician to deliver high-quality engineering support, ensuring that plant and machinery are operational and meet production requirements in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate with production leadership to prioritise operational support.
* Provide expert assistance after major safety or quality incidents.
* Offer technical guidance and training to Setter Operators, Trainers, and Maintenance Technicians.
* Handle complex breakdown repairs, including low-voltage electrical issues. This includes analyzing and repairing equipment after safety or quality issues, conducting follow-up actions post-servicing, repairs, and maintenance, and maintaining accurate machine history records.
* Implement solutions to address “Red Tag” quality concerns.
* Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of product samples.
* Support unit repairs, tooling refurbishment, and installation and commissioning of new machinery.
* Develop SOPs for technical tasks.
* Request standard spare parts and tooling as needed.
* Promote and follow safety protocols to employees and contractors.
About You:
* It would be ideal if you hold a BTEC HNC in Engineering.
* Must hold a recognised apprenticeship (Multi-Skilled, Mechanical, or Electrical).
* Must be proficient in MS Office packages.
* Must have a minimum of three years in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Technical expertise in the following would be ideal: strong understanding of manufacturing operations, skilled in fault-finding and root cause analysis, hands-on experience with machinery and automation, familiarity with Total Quality Systems (TS16949) and PLC systems.
