Retail Project Manager
Retail store refurbishments and renewals
The role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of retail store refurbishments, renewals, and fit-out programmes across a national retail estate. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in managing multi site projects from concept through to completion, ensuring brand consistency, commercial optimisation, and enhanced customer experience.
This role requires strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and the ability to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and compliance standards.
Key responsibilities:
1. Manage end to end delivery of store refurbishments, renewals, and new store openings across the UK estate.
2. Lead layout optimisation and space planning to maximise commercial effectiveness and customer experience.
3. Coordinate and supervise contractors, suppliers, and trades, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and regulatory compliance.
4. Partner with internal teams (property, operations, VM, facilities) to ensure project alignment with business strategy.
Experience:
5. Proven experience managing multi-site retail fit-out or refurbishment projects.
6. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Prince2 Practitioner preferred).
7. Expertise in stakeholder engagement across property, operations, and external partners.
8. Track record of delivering projects to strict budget, programme, and compliance standards.
9. Skilled in supplier management, contractor coordination, and procurement processes.
10. Proficient in project management software and reporting tools.
Desirable Experience:
11. Background in interior design, spatial planning, or store layouts.
12. Experience delivering customer experience-focused upgrades across retail environments.
13. Ability to balance creative design input with commercial project delivery.
