Overview
This role is a responsible and busy post in the sales team. This role is critical to our early involvement and specification in construction projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
You will be handling new enquiries from tier 1 UK construction companies, or membrane manufacturers, working through the CAD drawings / models to determine a solution from our product portfolio. You will then need to produce (and sometimes present) quotations for the client. The role is available because Nicholson is growing, and we need more capacity in this area.
Salary: £35-45k DOE plus bonus
31 holidays (including bank holidays)

Key responsibilities
Main purpose: Decide product strategy and quote
* Technical
o Advise customers on product queries
o Responding to incoming customer enquiries via email and phone quickly and efficiently
* Specification
o Analyse the project specifics, interrogate CAD files to ensure we have all relevant information.
o Put forward a products/system solution
* Quoting
o Create quotations, including budget quotation, using sensible pricing strategies.
* Deal management
o Ensure deals are created on HubSpot
o Ensure all activities are recorded, with follow up tasks
o Follow up of deals
o Proficient hand-over when necessary
There may be additional duties to the above.
Requirements
* Alignment with, and commitment to the Nicholson company values
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* You must have exposure to the construction industry (understanding of the building envelope, or roofing would be ideal) [unless you're a graduate, see next point]
* We will consider graduates in mechanical engineering, mathematics, sciences
* A degree in mathematics, mechanical engineering or similar is very desirable.
* AIOR, FIOR, MIOR or similar is very desirable
* You need to be logical - required for working through CAD drawings
* Previous experience as an estimator or in sales experience is helpful.
* If you do not consider yourself to have a technical mind, then think twice about applying
* You must consider yourself to be a professional person - we mean business!
* IoR association would be awesome, but not a necessity
* You must enjoy maths and numbers
* Good sales negotiation skills
* Ability to handle objections professionally
* High levels of organisation
* Exceptional customer service skills
* The candidate should have a range of GCSE / A Level results which show passes in English and Mathematics
