Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity The UK’s energy transition is accelerating — and this is your chance to be right at the heart of it. As our new Commercial Lead – Energy & Infrastructure Financing, you’ll originate and shape complex financing deals that directly support renewable and low-carbon infrastructure across the UK. From wind and solar to battery storage and wider energy transition assets, you’ll help bring commercially meaningful projects to life — growing our portfolio, influencing strategy, and building strong relationships across a fast moving market. If you’re passionate about playing a hands-on role in structuring transactions and developing long-term partnerships in the energy and infrastructure sector, this is an opportunity to make a real impact. What will your day look like? In this role, you will: Originate and develop project finance opportunities across renewable energy, energy transition and infrastructure assets, meeting agreed volume, income and fee targets. Build and maintain senior-level relationships with sponsors, developers, funds, advisers, and institutional partners. Represent the bank in client meetings, pitches and industry forums, presenting financing solutions aligned with client needs and our risk appetite. Support the structuring and execution of project and asset finance transactions, working closely with credit, legal, risk, and operations teams. Oversee financial modelling inputs, risk analysis and deal documentation with both internal and external advisers. Lead transactions through internal credit processes and ensure full alignment with policies and risk standards. Monitor trends, regulatory developments and competitor activity in the UK market to support strategic decision-making. Support portfolio monitoring and optimisation, including refinancing and follow-on opportunities. Work closely with the Head of Energy & Infrastructure, acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal colleagues. What do we expect from you? We’re looking for someone with: Proven experience in project finance, structured finance or infrastructure lending in the UK, including time spent structuring asset or project finance transactions. Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance growth opportunities with disciplined credit decision-making. Excellent financial analysis skills — including proficiency in financial mathematics and Excel modelling. Strong working knowledge of project/asset finance documentation, compliance requirements (including KYC), security structures and exit routes. Confident communication skills, with the ability to build credibility across internal and external stakeholders. A proactive, performance-driven approach, with the ability to manage multiple transactions at different stages. The ability to work effectively as part of a geographically diverse team.
