Job Purpose:
The Head of Market Risk and Market Data IT leads the development, implementation, and management of technology solutions for market risk management and market data functions. This role oversees market risk models, ensures data integrity, and provides strategic direction to enhance market risk and market data processes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, compliance with regulations, and driving innovation are key aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute the technology strategy for Market Risk and Market Data IT functions.
Provide visionary leadership and foster a culture of innovation.
2. Technology Development and Implementation:
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of market risk models and systems.
Integrate advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to enhance market risk assessment and management.
Ensure the integration and management of market data systems to support risk analysis and decision making.
3. Data Management and Integrity:
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of market risk and market data.
Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of market risk and market data databases.
4. Risk Assessment and Reporting:
Develop comprehensive market risk reporting frameworks.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of market risk metrics to senior management and regulatory bodies.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making.
5. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure that all market risk and market data IT activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure that the Market Risk and Market Data IT functions adapt accordingly.
6. Team Management and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Market Risk and Market Data IT team.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages professional growth and
development.
Manage resource allocation and project prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of IT initiatives.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Risk Management, Finance, and Operations, to
ensure alignment of technology initiatives with business needs.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Values:
Education:
o Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
o Master degree or MBA is highly desirable.
Certifications:
o CFA, FRM, PRM, PMP, ITIL certifications are advantageous.
Industry Experience:
o Minimum of 10 years in Market risk and Market Data management with a focus on IT solutions.
o Proven senior leadership experience in financial services.
Technical Expertise:
o Experience in developing and implementing Market risk and Market Data models – preferably using Murex.
o Proficiency in advanced analytics and data management technologies – preferably using .Net and
Java
Leadership and Management:
o Ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
o Experience in strategic planning and execution.
Project Management:
o Experience in managing large-scale IT projects.

o Proven ability to collaborate across departments.
