Job Description As a Team Member -. Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients, Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and macchiatos, according to established recipes and standards.Grind coffee beans, tamp the grounds, and operate espresso machines to extract quality shots of espresso. Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order Goods in and out and storeroom ownership Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about coffee, ingredients, and menu items. Recommend and upsell additional products, such as pastries or specialty coffee blends, to enhance the customer experience •Maintain a clean and organized work area, including brewing equipment, countertops, and display cases. Restock supplies and ensure that inventory levels are sufficient for daily operations. Follow health and safety guidelines and maintain proper food handling and sanitation standards. Operate till register/ card machine accurately for transactions. Provide friendly and professional customer service to clients and guests, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded. Help with the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages during meeting/events, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained. Work closely with the catering team to coordinate meeting/event logistics, ensuring all aspects of the catering service are executed smoothly and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the food preparation and service areas, adhering to health and safety regulations. Assist with inventory control, including monitoring stock levels, replenishing supplies, and reporting any discrepancies or shortages. Collaborate effectively with the catering team, kitchen staff, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of services. Assist with post-meeting/event cleanup tasks, including the removal of waste, packing equipment, and returning the venue to its original state. Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere. Clean and sanitize tables, counters, and service areas regularly. Ensure the café's cleanliness and tidiness by sweeping, mopping, and taking out rubbish. Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
